Exodus by Revd Tan Piah (@ Esther Room)

Acts of the Apostles by Ps Mabel Lee (@ Conference Room)

Synopsis on Exodus
The book of Exodus is about a daring escape from slavery in Egypt and God’s relationship with Israel. The book also relates how the nation of Israel began as well as the journey of Israel through the desert to the foot of Mt Sinai. Moses, the main character in the book was called and prepared by God to lead the nation as well as to teach the people God’s ways and laws. Exodus also covered the Sinai covenant as well as the Ten Commandments or words for living given by God. The desert tabernacle was also God’s way of living in the midst of His people. The book of Exodus as salvation event is historically and theologically important for our understanding of theology and Covenant.

Synopsis on Acts of the Apostles
“You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you ... “(Acts 1:8a) – this was the promise of Jesus before His ascension. Dr Luke, the author, recorded how this was true in the lives of the Disciples. Under the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit, the Disciples did great exploits and how the Gospel was spread beyond Jerusalem. This course attempts to explore specific events, challenges and victories as the Spirit-filled Disciples boldly and courageous spread the Word. Come, let’s journey with the Disciples in their exciting Holy Spirit inspired missions!
