TRUTHS FROM THE TABERNACLE

The Tabernacle in the wilderness is perhaps the most detailed
typology in the Scriptures. Image a forty-five by fifteen by
fifteen foot "mobile" house, constructed of three tons of gold, five
tons of silver, four tons of bronze, an assortment of precious
stones, fine acacia wood and fancy tapestries. This was the
Tabernacle, the portable house of worship enclosed by a Courtyard
and artistically built by the Israelites in accordance to the exact
pattern prescribed by God. A building of such intrinsic value
and intricate design could not be erected today for less than S$50m.
This unique "prefab" structure and value of the Tabernacle command
our attention and study. Its greatest architecture has great
object lessons of spiritual truths concerning God's plan of
redemption. Here was a place where God could localise, reveal
Himself and establish communion with man. Through its
wonderful furniture, priesthood and responsibilities of His redeemed
people. Its importance is seen in the fact that there are at
least 40 chapters of scriptural references related to it. It
was designed to represent and prefigure the most important teachings
of Scriptures with reference to Christ, the Church and the
Christian. The study of the Tabernacle will greatly enhance
our Christian life experience, worship and walk o service unto God.
